HE and PE

Getting sporting arrangements in place because home ed kids also need to keep fit. Lessons in badminton, watersports, gym-weights, swimming and basketball already started or starting in September. No to football and athletics. Looking for tennis and/or squash. Can’t think of anything else.

Henry from Black Arrows Badminton Club speaks highly of their Saturday morning lessons in East Ham Leisure Centre but we may go for the Friday after-school sessions organised by Amarjit (well, he’s my contact) in Langdon Academy, E6.

For watersports, we will be going with either Royal Docks Adventure or Wakeup Docklands; gym and swimming for preteens and teens are or will be at Newham Leisure Centre; and basketball lessons will in all likelihood be with Newham Youngbloods Basketball Club.

My boys are not interested in football or athletics but I’m on the lookout for good tennis and/or squash lessons.

We are also giving the Sea Cadets a go – a bit of regimental training is always handy.
