We did the Painted Hall Ceiling

We were in the Painted Hall within The Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich today for a chemistry workshop based on Europe’s biggest painting conservation project – the restoration of the Painted Hall ceiling – and we really enjoyed it. Big thanks to ‘H’, the home ed parent who organised it.

If you’d neither heard of nor visited the project, the link is HERE. The work is scheduled to last 2 years but don’t wait till the last minute; it really is impressive and the opportunity may not present itself again.

Even if conservation doesn’t appeal to you, going up to the ceiling space and being able to almost reach out and touch the vast 300 years old painting must be appealing. Go see it.
