Museum of London Project – Home Ed Involvement

(Post received from Museum of London on 31 October 2023)

Dear Home Educator,

After a successful pilot project, the Museum of London has started collecting children’s stories directly from children for the first time in its history. The museum recognises children as an important part of London’s rich cultural tapestry and wants to highlight their lived experiences.

We want to hear what 10 and 13 year old Londoners feel and think about London, and learn about their hopes and fears for the future of their city. We will be speaking to children in schools in every London borough and would like home educated children’s stories to be included as well.

We’ll be conducting interactive hour long research sessions with 2,000 children across London, which will result in a published report.

If you would like to find out more about this exciting project please visit the My London Story page on our website.

We are currently offering home school groups morning and afternoon sessions at the Museum of London, EC2Y 5HN on Monday the 11th of December (please note the Museum of London is currently closed to the public and you will not have access to the galleries during this session). If this date and location is not suitable for you, please do let us know as other dates in December are available and we can also run the session at our Museum of London Docklands site, E14 4AL.

Please complete the form at the bottom of this webpage to express your interest for one of these sessions. Please let us know about any access requirements and we will do our best to accommodate these and ensure all participants have a positive experience.

If you have any queries or would like more information please contact me mrevesz@museumoflondon.orguk

Kind regards,

Melinda
