[From Ka Te (Waltham Forest Home Ed Group) September 2022]
Some people may want to book group trips with friends, I thought I’d list some friendly free trips I’ve dealt with this term for those with younger/ older kids
Tate Modern- they still have availability for their free workshops on Tuesday afternoons in October and November. Very easy to deal with use the email on their website, needs 10-15 children
Tower Of London, under £4 a child. There’s an email form on their website
Foundling Museum- really friendly and flexible, 30 max. Free if booked
National Gallery- I think new free workshops are opening up in November. Needs 10 children.
British Library, excellent selection, free but a cancellation penalty to be aware of
Science museum- you need to ring them though, free wonderlab entry
St Paul’s cathedral works at £2.60 for entry/ dome climb, or about £3 for schools sessions there.
Pizza express, various locations- are free and bookable online (free pizza each😃)
All of them are easily found on Google with school visits and the name of the organisation.
There’s a lot free outside there to book, I thought I’d flag it up. Don’t be worried about writing in your own address on forms, being lead teacher/ finance officer; they are used to it.
